About Us

Our Fellowship

Hákonar Highland Rim Kindred (HHRK) is a local Old Norse religious kindred dedicated to the faithful practice, study, and continuation of the Old Norse religious tradition in Middle Tennessee.

Our Purpose

Founded in the spirit of honor, frith, hospitality, and lifelong learning, HHRK exists to provide a stable spiritual home where individuals and families may gather for devotion, fellowship, education, and service. We seek to cultivate a community marked by mutual respect, shared responsibility, and enduring friendship.

Shared Religious Life

Our kindred gathers throughout the year for blóts, sumbels, seasonal holy tides, study, and fellowship. Through these practices we honor the Gods, remember our ancestors, respect the landvættir, and strengthen the bonds of our spiritual household.

Our Inspiration

Inspired by the legacy of King Hákon the Good, we strive to follow his example of conviction joined with humility. While firmly rooted in the Old Norse religious tradition, we believe that faith is best expressed through honorable conduct, hospitality, and the pursuit of frith within our kindred, our families, and our communities.

Who Is Welcome

HHRK welcomes sincere seekers, lifelong practitioners, individuals, couples, and families who desire to learn and participate in the religious life of the kindred. Whether you are taking your first steps into the Old Norse tradition or have practiced for many years, you are invited to explore our beliefs, attend a gathering open to visitors, and become part of our growing community.

Hákonarætt

HHRK is the Founding Kindred of Hákonarætt Fellowship. Together with other chartered kindreds, we share a spiritual household known as Hákonarætt — "the House of Hákon." It is not a family by blood, but a fellowship of local kindreds united by shared reverence, devotion, and a commitment to living with honor, frith, hospitality, and integrity.

Looking Ahead

We believe that healthy religious communities are built patiently over time. Our goal is not simply to inherit the traditions of the past, but to faithfully live them in the present and to leave a worthy legacy for future generations.

A Living Tradition

Faithfully lived today.

Worthily handed down for tomorrow.

The Old Norse religious tradition calls us to live with purpose, courage, and integrity. Its wisdom is found not only in ancient stories and sacred rites, but in the character we cultivate, the obligations we fulfill, and the relationships we nurture.

Our Commitment

HHRK is committed to lawful, peaceful religious practice and to fostering a respectful environment for all who gather with us. We believe that strong communities are built through mutual respect, personal responsibility, and goodwill toward one another and our neighbors.
