Hákonarætt is not a single hearth — it is a spiritual household shared by kindreds who hold a common commitment to the Old Norse religious tradition. HHRK is the Founding Kindred of Hákonarætt Fellowship, serving Middle Tennessee as one local expression of the wider household. Other kindreds, such as our sister kindred in Alabama, share this household identity while remaining rooted in their own communities. If your kindred, in another place, holds the same conviction — honoring the Gods, remembering the ancestors, respecting the landvættir, and building lives of honor, frith, and hospitality — there may be a place for us to walk this road together.
Affiliation with Hákonarætt is a bond of shared household identity, shared principles, and mutual frith. Chartered Kindreds of Hákonarætt share a common religious household, tradition, and mutual responsibility while remaining responsible for their own local community life. The Fellowship exists to strengthen local kindreds through shared identity, fellowship, education, and institutional continuity — not to replace local leadership or community life.

I. Reach Out — Tell us about your kindred — your history, your practices, and what draws you to Hákonarætt.
II. A Conversation, Not an Application — We'll talk about shared conviction, what affiliation would and would not change for your kindred, and whether this is genuinely a good fit for both of us.
III. Becoming Kindred — If both the developing community and Hákonarætt Fellowship determine that chartering is appropriate, the community may become a Chartered Kindred of Hákonarætt while remaining rooted in its own local community and leadership.
"A household is not one hearth. It is every hearth that keeps the same fire."
